Last-Mile Delivery

Last mile, leveled up.

First-party last-mile network covering 70% of the US population today, growing to 83% by Q3 2026.

Industry-leading SLAs mean failed deliveries become the exception, not the cost of doing business.

On average, self-warehousing brands and 3PLs save 20-40% on last-mile costs over incumbent carriers.

Working with Jetpack has been a game changer. Onboarding was super smooth and the ongoing support has meant I can focus on what is driving our business. I only wish I had made the leap sooner.

The Basics

What is last-mile delivery?

What it is

Last-mile delivery is the final leg of a parcel’s journey, from a regional fulfillment center or sortation hub to the customer’s door. It’s the most expensive and most visible part of any shipment: roughly half of the total shipping cost, and the moment that drives every review.

Why it’s hard

Most ecommerce brands rely on the national carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS) for last-mile, paying retail surcharges and absorbing delivery failures as a cost of doing business.

How Jetpack does it

Jetpack’s last-mile solution is a first-party regional network with 99.5% delivery success, 98% on-time, and 20-40% savings on the same volume. Predictive logistics technology catches issues before they reach the customer. A dedicated team is available on Slack the moment a question becomes urgent.

Questions

Frequently asked.

A multi-hub warehouse network distributes inventory across multiple regional fulfillment centers, with each order shipping from the warehouse closest to the customer. Jetpack's warehouse network spans 60+ warehouses globally: 45+ across the US, 7 in Canada, 4 in the UK, 3 in the EU, 3 in Australia. MultiHub IQ uses machine learning to distribute your inventory based on where your customers actually order from, so each shipment travels the shortest possible distance. The result: up to 3X faster transit, up to 85% fewer shipments beyond zone 4, and up to 30% lower overall fulfillment costs vs. single-warehouse setups.

Last-mile delivery (also called last-mile shipping or final-mile delivery) is the final leg of the delivery chain: the handoff from a regional distribution hub to the recipient's door. It's the most expensive and most visible part of the journey for both shippers and consumers. Routing density, delivery success rate, and surcharge structure are the variables that decide whether a brand makes or loses money on the last mile. Jetpack's last-mile service is built on an exclusive first-party network already powering more than half of Jetpack's own 3PL last-mile volume, layered with our Jetpack Care support model.

Self-warehousing ecommerce brands and other 3PLs. We've opened up the same last-mile network that powers Jetpack's own 3PL service, so you get enterprise-grade rates and delivery experiences without needing enterprise-level volume. Same network, same SLAs, same Jetpack Care on top.

Our flagship first-party last-mile network reaches 70% of the US population today, with 83% coverage planned by Q3 2026. Coverage includes 49 of the 50 largest metropolitan areas, more than 8,000 zip codes, and 100+ regional hubs handling sortation and routing. We also work with a number of additional last-mile carriers across the US and Canada for regions outside the first-party footprint.

On average, our brands save 20-40% on last-mile costs versus other regional and non-traditional carriers, depending on volume, package profile, and zone mix. The savings come from our consolidated network volume: Jetpack's own 3PL fleet, plus the brands and 3PLs already on it. Every additional partner makes the rates better for everyone. Add no fuel, residential, DAS, or peak surcharges, dim factor 194 with no dim weight applied under one cubic foot, and pickup included. We don't quote a single number because the right comparison depends on what you're shipping today.

Industry-leading: 99.5% delivery success rate, 98% on-time rate. Drivers are incentivized on high performance, scored on reviews and traceability, and routed via advanced load-balancing technology. The network delivers 7 days a week, makes up to 3 delivery attempts before returning a package, and provides safe-drop logic plus 3 photo proofs of delivery (the delivery area, a parcel close-up, and the parcel within the delivery area).

Real-time tracking from label creation through final delivery, with location and timestamp at every hub scan, departure, arrival, and delivery event. Recipients get SMS notifications on key events. Shippers get the same data through our dashboard and via integrations with EasyPost, ShipStation, ShipEngine, AfterShip, Wismo Labs, Malomo, Narvar, 17Track, and more. Custom integration via our full-featured API is supported.

We work with brands and 3PLs shipping 200+ orders per day on average. Get a quote with your current volume and zone mix and we'll be in touch quickly to build a plan together.

3PLs can leverage our access to this exclusive first-party last-mile network, the same network powering more than half of Jetpack's own 3PL volume. Rates of this caliber have historically been reserved for shippers with enterprise-level scale. By consolidating volume across our partner ecosystem, we open that pricing tier to 3PLs who want to compete on cost and delivery experience without having to be one of the top ten largest 3PLs in America. Every additional 3PL added to the consolidated pool strengthens rates for everyone, including Jetpack. The more partners on the network, the better the economics get for all of us. What this unlocks for your operation: protect your margin against incumbent carrier rate increases, win new accounts and retain existing ones who are price-shopping you against the big 3PLs. Drive Amazon-like value-add services like 7-day delivery, three attempts, safe-drop logic, and photo proof of delivery on every shipment. Plus, get Jetpack's legendary care layer, driving the best possible results with the carrier and escalating issues for your customers in real time.

Jetpack Care is real-time dedicated support. You get a single point of contact for service levels, integrations, tracking, claims, and quarterly optimizations. Slack, email, or phone. Your dedicated client-care manager resolves most issues before they hit your desk. We also run quarterly optimization sessions to review spend, assess service issues, and identify opportunities to reduce cost or improve experience. All without driving your rates up.

Most brands and 3PLs are live within 2-4 weeks: rate-card finalization, integration setup, label-spec validation, and a small trial period before scaling to full volume.

No. Our high-volume rate card includes pickup, has a generous dim factor of 194 with no dim weight applied under one cubic foot, and carries no fuel, residential, delivery area surcharge, or peak-season surcharges. The rates you agree to are the rates you pay.

Invoicing terms vary depending on the nature of your operation. Standard net terms are available, with custom arrangements for higher-volume partners. The coolest part of how we invoice last-mile: you aren't charged for a shipment until the delivery actually succeeds. Failed deliveries don't generate an invoice line, which keeps our incentives aligned with yours.

Last-mile delivery and final-mile delivery refer to the same thing: the final leg of a parcel's journey, from a regional sortation facility or fulfillment center to the customer's door. "Final-mile" is the more common term in B2B and freight logistics, where the "mile" can be a 50+ mile run from a hub to a retail store. "Last-mile" is the standard term in ecommerce DTC contexts. Jetpack uses both interchangeably; the service is the same regardless of which term you use.

The big three national carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS) run hub-and-spoke networks built for long-haul shipping: parcels consolidate, transport across the country, and then hand off to a local driver. Jetpack's last-mile network is regional and first-party: parcels originate inside the destination region and ship directly to the customer's door, skipping the cross-country leg. The result is 99.5% delivery success versus the industry-average 95-97%, 98% on-time versus 90-92%, and 20-40% lower rates because there are fewer hops and no fuel surcharge, no residential surcharge, no delivery-area surcharge, and no peak-season surcharge. National carriers still play a role for parcels going outside our footprint. The optimal play is to use Jetpack inside our 70% coverage (growing to 83% by Q3 2026) and a national carrier for the rest.

No. Jetpack's last-mile solution is a first-party network that includes dedicated sortation hubs, dedicated line hauls between hubs, and a highly vetted driver network incentivized on delivery performance. The network doesn't rebrand Amazon DSP, FedEx Ground, or USPS contract services. The dedicated sortation and line-haul layer is what drives accuracy and efficiency: parcels move on infrastructure dedicated to network volume, not commingled with millions of other shippers' parcels. Drivers are vetted, scored continuously, and incentivized for delivery quality, which is how the network hits 99.5% delivery success and 98% on-time. For destinations outside the regional footprint (70% of the US population today, growing to 83% by Q3 2026), parcels route through the appropriate national carrier.
