What Changes

What changes when your 3PL knows pet brands.

Pet parents take a late order personally.
Built for pet brands shipping 1,000+ orders a month.

Support

Answers in real time, in your Slack.

From a team that treats your brand as their own, often solving problems before you see them.

Lot & expiry

Nearest expiry ships first, every time.

Treats, chews, and toppers are received with a lot and a best-by date, a minimum shelf life is set per SKU, and short-dated units are held back from orders automatically.

Refills

A refill ships like any other order.

Subscription orders sync from your store as standard orders and ship the same day when they land by 2PM, 99.8% on time, so no pet runs out waiting on a box.

Accuracy

The right size and flavor, every time.

Each size, color, and flavor is its own SKU and every pick is scan-verified at 99.95%, so a large harness never ships as a medium.

Returns

Harnesses get restocked. Treats never do.

A restock, quarantine, or dispose rule for every SKU, with up to three inspection steps. A returned lot-tracked product never goes back into sellable stock.

Shipping

Closer to the customer, for less.

Rates pooled across 5,000+ brands and 60+ fulfillment centers, Carrier IQ shopping every order, and MultiHub IQ placing stock near your buyers: as low as 1-3 days nationwide.

One of the biggest things for us is honestly how proactive you are with trying to lower costs. We had struggled for years with our other provider with trying to get better rates and they just never budged, but you are out there working to improve on that. It's a breath of fresh air to feel so supported!

Is there a way to automatically hold shipping for orders that have “manual” as a Shopify tag?
Nora (Jetpack Care)9:05 AM
Morning @Paul! Absolutely, we can set that automation rule up for you. Want me to do it right now?

@Paul heads up: JET-CDL-08 is down to 11 days of stock in NJ and your inbound is 9 days out. Did you want to cut it that close? We could move 400 units from Reno on tonight’s line-haul, if you’d rather play it safe.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Yes, fully automated. Lot-tracked products are stored separately by batch, and the system ships nearest-expiration inventory first via FIFO, so customers always get the freshest product without manual oversight. Set minimum shelf life days per SKU; units below that threshold are auto-excluded from fulfillment, so no expired product reaches a customer. Full recall readiness: trace exactly which orders received a specific batch and from which fulfillment center. Returns on lot-tracked products route to quarantine or disposal rather than restock, protecting active inventory.

3PL pricing usually has four parts: storage, billed by the space you use; receiving, billed for the time it takes to check your inventory in; pick-and-pack, billed per order and per item; and shipping, billed by weight, size, and zone. What you pay depends on the provider and your volume. Jetpack's pricing strips out the fees most 3PLs pile on: no per-order processing fee, no charge for standard packaging like boxes and poly mailers, and no charge for your first pick. Then three levers pull the rate down: the combined volume of 5,000+ brands on our network, Carrier IQ routing every order to the lowest-cost carrier, and MultiHub IQ placing inventory closer to your buyers, which cuts zone-4+ shipments by up to 85% and overall costs by up to 30%.

Jetpack is generally built for brands shipping 1,000+ orders per month across all channels combined. That said, we love hearing from newer brands building something exciting. If you're early-stage and we believe in what you're building, we'll talk through what it would take to invest and grow together. Reach out for a conversation. Otherwise, crowdfunding fulfillment and startup fulfillment are good stepping stones until the volume catches up.

Jetpack partners with ecommerce brands shipping 1,000+ orders per month, large enough to benefit from multi-hub distribution, still at the growth stage where hands-on support matters most. Onboarding takes 1-2 weeks with about 4-6 hours of your time: a dedicated team connects your sales channels, configures your SKU catalog, sets shipping preferences, and positions inventory via MultiHub IQ from your historical order data. We teach you the tools, not just deliver outcomes. Switching from another 3PL? For a limited time, we're waiving receiving fees on your initial inventory transfer, and we run a structured migration: as fast as one week for D2C, four to six weeks for B2B with EDI and retail compliance cutovers. No long-term contracts.

Pet product fulfillment is the storage, picking, packing, and shipping of pet supplies (toys, collars, leashes, harnesses, grooming products), shelf-stable pet food and treats, and chews on behalf of a pet brand, across its online store, marketplaces, and retailers. Jetpack does this for pet brands shipping 1,000+ orders a month of parcel-sized products: every size and color of a toy or harness kept as its own SKU, every consumable tracked by lot and best-by date, your store and Chewy filled from one inventory, and refills shipped like any other order.

Three kinds. Supplies: toys, collars, leashes, harnesses, pet apparel, grooming products, and bowls. Shelf-stable pet food, treats, and toppers, tracked by lot and best-by date under the same rules as our food and beverage fulfillment. And chews, pet supplements, and other pet health products, handled the way we handle supplement fulfillment. Consumables go through a short approval during onboarding, where we confirm shelf life and storage needs before the first inventory ships. Two things we don't take: food that needs refrigeration, and prescription medication.

Yes, from the same inventory that ships your store's orders. Chewy, Petco, PetSmart, Pet Supplies Plus, and Pet Supermarket are approved retailers for retail distribution, along with Pet Valu in Canada. Chewy and Petco are also approved for retail dropshipping, where we ship the retailer's order straight to its customer; Chewy dropshipping comes with conditions, so talk to us before you commit to a program. Orders run on EDI through SPS Commerce with GS1 labeling and retail-compliant palletizing, and a retail order can specify the exact lot it ships from. Amazon runs through FBA prep or Seller Central. More on B2B and wholesale.

Yes. A refill reaches us as a standard order from your subscription app (Recharge, Skio, Ordergroove, or WooCommerce Subscriptions) and picks from the same lots as your one-time and retail orders. Orders in by 2PM ship the same day and 99.8% ship on time, and with MultiHub IQ placing inventory near your customers, delivery runs as low as one to three days nationwide, so the refill lands before the last bag runs out. More on subscription box fulfillment.

Shelf-stable pet food and treats are stored in GMP- and GFSI-certified fulfillment centers, each lot kept separate with its best-by date. Temperature-controlled storage is available in select centers for products that need it: tell us which SKUs when we quote and we'll place that inventory in a center that has it. We don't offer refrigerated or frozen storage, so products that need a cold chain aren't a fit. Get a quote and list anything that is sensitive to heat.

It follows the rule you set for that SKU. Toys, collars, and harnesses can be inspected in up to three steps and then restocked, quarantined, or disposed of, so a harness that came back in the wrong size returns to sellable stock and a chewed one doesn't. Lot-tracked products like treats and chews are never put back on the shelf: each return is quarantined or disposed of. Customers can start a return or an exchange in our returns portal, or you can keep Loop, AfterShip, Redo, or Corso. See how returns work.

Three things. A shelf-stable product, because treats that need refrigeration aren't something we store. A lot number and a best-by date for every lot, entered on the receiving order when you send inventory in, so each unit is tracked from the dock to the customer. And a minimum shelf life per SKU, so anything too close to its date is held back from orders automatically. Product that arrives with less than a year of shelf life remaining needs approval before the first shipment, which we take care of during onboarding.

Jetpack is built for the parcel-sized products most pet brands ship every day: treats, chews, toppers, toys, collars, grooming products, and smaller bags of food. Items up to 50 lb ship as standard. Products between 50 and 100 lb need written approval before they're sent in, carriers add a handling surcharge to packages of 50 lb or more, and no single package ships over 100 lb. If most of your catalog is large bags or litter, tell us when we quote and we'll be straight about fit.

Most moves to a new pet product 3PL land in two to six weeks. We build the transition plan around your channels and catalog: lot products configured with their best-by dates, storage needs confirmed, custom packaging received, and inventory moved on a phased or parallel plan so your current 3PL keeps shipping until you cut over. Your go-live date is set before you commit. See how switching works.
